The neurodevelopmental disorders is a group of disorders that have a neurobiological basis and occur in early childhood, before the child goes to primary school. They are caused by differences in the physiology, anatomy and neurochemistry of the brain and often have a genetic background. Their development is directly related to environmental factors that have an impact very early in the child's life, such as appropriate responses from the family, therapeutic and educational context.
The early interventionas early as infancy can lead to a drastic reduction in the onset of these disorders, the restoration of many of the deficits they cause, the prevention of the development of secondary problems and the overall improvement of the child's functioning and promotion of development. Appropriate therapeutic intervention aimed at developing skills in processing and recording environmental stimuli is the goal of the qualified therapist.
